Relational Gestalt Practice: The Transformative Power of Emotion
April 3-5, 2020
Our sense of who we are develops in connection with others, and although we cannot change the past, we can change what we came to believe about our capacity for love and belonging. Such beliefs can shift in a group that meets our needs for attunement and understanding; supports us in identifying and expressing our emotions; and commits to practicing kindness, acceptance and honesty. In this environment, we can learn to fully experience and express feelings in healthy ways, which is integral to being alive.
In this workshop, we'll seek to:
Improve our ability to make contact
Develop and track awareness of our emotions and sensations
Learn to express and practice communicating needs and wants effectively
Discover habitual relational patterns that prevent us from cultivating the type of contact we want.
The workshop will include time for basic gestalt awareness practices, a mixture of didactic and experiential exercises, as well as individual "open seat" sessions with Dorothy and with the support of the group.
