Relational Gestalt Practice -Open Seat pods

Feb and March 2026

Open Seat is an individual Gestalt session that takes place in a group setting. In an open seat pod, four individuals explore in a group setting over the course of a single day using Gestalt Awareness Practice tools, with Dorothy as reflector. The person working is supported in using the tools of Relational Gestalt Practice to contact their moment-to-moment experience. Students may explore sensations and emotion, face life situations past and present, or develop their ability for self-expression and communication.

This exploration may include dream work and Gestalt experiments that involve the group’s participation. Whatever the content, open seat is an interactive form that is used to develop awareness and self-responsibility. Students might also use this opportunity to create a relationship with self and others that is more supportive and enlivening.

This workshop is open to those who have attended a previous Relational Gestalt Practice workshop with Dorothy, or done GAP with Christine Price or Sharon Terry. Each person in the workshop will have an opportunity to use the open seat with the support of Dorothy and the circle. To ensure that there is adequate time for each participant, this workshop will be limited to 4 participants. Periods of basic practice, continuum of awareness, experiential work and group sharing will be included.
